ARMACON Fuse AK Enhanced Safety Selector (Index)
Armacon Fuse AK safety/fire selector
Manufactured by Armacon Arms Devices (RF).
With a little modification, it can be installed on the Saiga-9.
Due to the increased lever arm, this model of the safety requires less effort to switch. In addition, the location of the lever allows you to remove the carbine from the safety without even lifting your index finger from the trigger.
Structurally, the standard AK safety was designed to be switched with the right (leading) hand by lifting it off the pistol grip. For military purposes, this was quite justified, since when a threat arose, the machine gun was removed from the safety to the automatic fire mode, and no further actions were performed with it.
In modern conditions, such a design is not entirely convenient. For example, for a hunter, removing the carbine from the safety at the moment the game appears, which requires lifting the hand from the pistol grip, means losing control over the situation and the inability to fire a shot at that moment, which can ultimately lead to the loss of a trophy. At the same time, moving through the forest with a carbine with a cartridge in the chamber and the safety off in advance is also hardly a good idea, since an unfortunate fall or a snag on a branch can lead to an accident.
For athletes, IPSC shooters, the ability to switch the safety without taking their hand off the pistol grip means a gain in time when bringing the weapon to readiness from position one (a cartridge in the chamber, the weapon on the safety).

Attention!
The safety catch was originally designed for AK series assault rifles and does not block the ability to fire with the butt folded, so when installed on short versions of the civilian semi-automatic carbine "Saiga", the product will need to be modified.
In case of a tight movement of the fire selector (due to the mismatch of the weapon and the selector), you cannot bend it, you need to carefully file the rivet of the selector axis in the area of the junction of the selector and the axis.
Suitable only for rifled carbines. Not intended for installation on semi-automatic rifles "Saiga" / "Vepr" 12 gauge!
If you want such a safety catch for the Saiga-12 / Vepr-12, then you can separately purchase a safety flag for self-modification.
