The Polar Bear tourist knife (originally named Vitalis) was designed as a survival knife at the request of the famous Russian traveler Vitaly Sundakov for his journey to the Mexican desert of Varikut.
The knife offers maximum operational reliability and high versatility. The width of the blade and the overall strength of the structure allows it to be used as a shovel, a safety point or as a lever. The powerful metal pommel acts as a hammer. All-metal handle with a cutout in the middle part to reduce weight.
Wooden overlays. Leather sheath with a plastic insert. Anti-glare treatment.
The knife with a black coated blade is called "Grizzly".
"Polar Bear" is not a melee weapon, which is confirmed by the test report and the conclusion:
OKTs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation No. 3638 C-1675 dated September 6, 1999.
