The reaction rod redirects torque from the soft aluminum receiver and receiver index pin into the barrel extension. It is machined from a solid bar of 4140 chrome moly steel and features flats for securely clamping vertically or horizontally into a bench vice. This allows users to slide the upper receiver onto the rod, where the integral spines will interface with the locking lugs in the barrel's receiver extension. By transferring the torque into the locking lugs, sheared barrel pins are a thing of the past, and worry-free installation of barrel nuts, gas blocks, and muzzle devices is possible. As a bonus, with no wiggling in clamped fixtures, the Reaction Rod won't mar your receiver's finish and doesn't require the removal of mounted optics or iron sights.
